–The City of Algona will host their annual spring clean-up day Saturday at Algona Aquatic Center parking lot, as area residents will be able to get rid of some unwanted items they may have taking up space in the garage or lying around the house. Deputy City Administrator Barb Smith tells KLGA News not everything can be brought down to the park for disposal.
Items can be dropped off between 8AM-3PM Saturday for a small fee, based on vehicle size. Any items dropped off before or after these times will be considered unauthorized dumping.
The event is normally held at Veteran’s Park but had to be moved to due to flooding. It will cost $25 per load if you bring items in a car, $40 per load for a small trailer, pickup, SUV, van or station wagon and $75 a load for large trailers. If you have electronic items that need to go to the transfer station, you can make an appointment by calling 515-924-3739.
