Nominations Sought for Heritage Award

–Nominations are now being accepted for the annual Heritage Award, that will be handed out during the annual Founder’s Day Celebration in July.

The award was established in 2004 as a way to recognize individuals for their commitment and dedication to the Algona community. Nominees must be a person, either living or deceased, who has lived in Algona at some point.

Nominees will be considered based on the following criteria:

–Service to the local community

–Service to Kossuth County

–Service to the State of Iowa

–Service beyond the State of Iowa

–Offices held in local, county, state organizations and beyond

Nominations can be sent to the Founder’s Day Committee at the Algona Area Chamber of Commerce, 123 E. State Street, Algona, IA  50511. The deadline to submit a nomination is June 1st. The award will be presented during the Founder’s Day Celebration, which kicks off on July 11th.
