–Algona Police Officer Kevin Cram will be honored this weekend as his name will be added to the Iowa Peace Officers Memorial Wall in Des Moines.

Governor Kim Reynolds, Lt. Governor Adam Gregg, and Iowa Department of Public Safety Commissioner Stephan Baynes will be joined by various state leaders, law enforcement partners and family members for the ceremony on the grounds that are located east of the Oran Pape State Officer Building.

The ceremony will feature a speech by the Governor, a reading of the names of fallen officers, a 21-gun salute, and a flag presentation for Officer Cram’s family.

Cram, who was killed in the line of duty last September, will be memorialized along with Officer Phoukham Tran of the Des Moines Police Department. Tran passed away in November of 2023 after being severely injured in the line of duty more than a decade ago.

The ceremony is scheduled for 10AM Friday in Des Moines and is open to the public. To learn more about the Iowa Peace Officer Memorial, you can go online to www.dps.iowa.gov.
