–Ceremonies were held across the area today to honor those who have given all for their country on this Memorial Day. Lt. Colonel Dwayne Eden served as the featured speaker at the ceremony held on the lawn of the Kossuth County Courthouse in downtown Algona.
Eden served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and he shared a story of what he says was the toughest thing he every had to do in the service of his country.
A total of seven flags were dedicated during the ceremony in Algona, in honor of area service members who have passed away over the last year.
