–A Whittemore woman is the latest recipient of the “1440 Citizen of the Month” award from the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Roger Fisher announced this week that Maureen Elbert is the “1440” winner for the month of May. Elbert is being honored for her 26 years of service to the Kossuth County Economic Development Corporation, as well as her positive and caring nature as a community leader.
Over the past few decades, Elbert has served on numerous committees, councils and boards regarding community development in and around Kossuth County. She has also developed the Intern Program that provides networking activities and job skills for college students and recent high school graduates in the Kossuth County area.
