–A pair of Clarion men were injured in a rollover accident Saturday evening south of Highway 3 in rural Wright County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 19-year-old Yefri Anthony Lopez was northbound on County Road R33 in a 2014 Toyota Camry just after 8:30 PM Saturday. While traveling in the 2400 block of R33, about 4 miles northeast of Eagle Grove, Lopez lost control and veered into the east ditch. The vehicle rolled, ejecting Lopez, who was not wearing a seatbelt and coming to rest on the driver’s side.
Lopez was taken by Eagle Grove EMS to Trinity Hospital in Fort Dodge with undisclosed injuries.
A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 25-year-old Joel Cifuentes, was also injured in the crash. The report states that Cifuentes was wearing a seatbelt and became trapped in the vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to Unity Point Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
The accident remains under investigation.
