–A recent study by the Iowa Hospital Association shows the economic impact of Kossuth Regional Health Center to be nearly $70 Million in 2023.

The study is compiled from hospital-submitted data to the American Hospital Association’s annual survey, and it shows KRHC’s $69.5 Million in expenditures accounts for 7% of Kossuth County’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The healthcare center generated 484 jobs, which is just over 7% of the county’s employment, while paying out over $28.9 Million in wages, for about 9% of the county’s earnings.

KRHC also provided nearly $1.1 Million in Community Benefits, with nearly 42,000 encounters provided through community service programs.

Across the state, the study found that hospitals employed nearly 138,000 people in 2023, and provided over $9 Billion in wages to those workers.
