–Business officials from across Iowa will converge on Algona next week to kick off the Leadership Iowa class for 2024-2025. Jessi McQuerrey serves as Director of Programs for the Iowa Association of Business and Industry Foundation, and she says the class has been around for over 40 years.

Moving the meetings around to a different community each month allows the participants a chance to view topics from a different perspective.

McQuerrey says the program hasn’t been to Algona in over 20 years, so they’re excited to come back.

During their time in Algona, McQuerrey says they will conduct meetings and hold events at the new Grand Stay Hotel & Suites, the Kossuth County Ag & Motorsports Museum, and the Tietz Entrepreneurial Center at Iowa Lakes Community College.

The Leadership Iowa group will be in Algona October 2nd-4th to begin their 7-month program. They will also meet in Shenandoah, Clarinda, Ottumwa, Des Moines, Clinton, Sioux Center and Cedar Rapids. The participants will officially graduate from the program during the ABI’s annual conference next June in Council Bluffs. You can find out more online at www.IowaABIFoundation.org.
