–The Algona City Council approved a contract Monday night for three railroad crossing replacement projects to be completed this summer. Matt Cole with Bolton & Menk addressed the council during a public hearing prior to approving the contract.
Cole says each of the intersections has become rough for motorists in recent years.
Detours will be in place when the work is taking place later this summer.
Erpelding Excavating submitted the low bid for the project at $416,164, which is more than $3,000 under the engineer’s estimated costs.
