–The unofficial kickoff to summer in Kossuth County gets underway Saturday with the annual Whittemore Days festivities. Organizer Ryan Nelson tells KLGA News they have 3 days of excitement planned, beginning with the St. Michael’s 5K Fun Run Saturday morning at 9AM.
Saturday will end with a street dance featuring the music of Kiefer and Scott from 8-11 PM in downtown Whittemore. Sunday’s festivities begin with the Car, Truck, Bike & Tractor Show.
The carnival will also begin Sunday afternoon at 3:30 PM, with the world-famous legion burgers served starting at 4 PM. Nelson says everything leads up to Monday, with their annual Memorial Day Parade starting at the Legion Hall.
