Nearly all of Iowa’s 99 counties are now under an Extreme Heat Warning that runs through 9 PM Tuesday. Only Lyon, Osceola and Dickinson in far northwest Iowa, are under a Heat Advisory. Jim Lee, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service, says you will feel the heat this week.
Lee anticipates the steamy weather will be around most of this week.
Some rainfall is possible, which Lee says could help to a bit of relief to the oppressive heat.
Forecasters remind Iowans to stay hydrated, take breaks if working in the heat, and to never leave pets or children in cars even for a few minutes.
