The Iowa Economic Development Authority has approved Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) grants for projects in Forest City and Larchwood. IEDA spokesperson Kanan Kappleman says the Friends of Bear Creek in Forest City were awarded approximately $700,000 to replace the clubhouse at Bear Creek Golf Course.
Kappleman says the project isn’t just for area golfers.
The Northwest Iowa community of Larchwood is also getting funds for public gathering spot.
Kappleman says the new facility will provide the community residents with a great place to hold events.
Kappleman says the project will cost around 4.13 Million.
