–Charges have now been filed against a Calhoun County man who was injured in a motorcycle crash north of Fenton earlier this month.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies arrested 32-year-old Jaden Marshall Feddersen of Manson on Monday on charges of OWI 1st offense and Possession of a Weapon while Under the Influence, both serious misdemeanors.

The original accident report stated the Feddersen was northbound on Iowa Highway 15 on a Yamaha motorcycle around 6 PM on Saturday, August 1st. Feddersen passed another northbound vehicle and lost control along a curve north of Fenton, crashing the motorcycle and sustaining serious injuries that required transportation by Air Ambulance to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.

Deputies suspected that Feddersen was under the influence of alcohol, and a criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District Court states that a test revealed his blood-alcohol level to be .108, which is above the legal limit. The complaint also says that Feddersen was in possession of a loaded firearm while under the influence.

He was booked into the Kossuth County Jail before posting a $2,300 cash bond.
