Monarch Tagging

Join us Sunday, September 13 at 4 p.m. to help tag Monarch butterflies. Meet at Smith Lake Campground
enclosed shelter on the south side of the lake. Tagging Monarchs helps provide researchers with data to
learn geographic range, migration routes and population status. After a brief discussion on the how-to’s and
challenges facing Monarchs, we will venture to the prairie to (hopefully) find, catch and tag adults as they
migrate south to Mexico for the winter. This is a great program for families. Wearing long pants may be
helpful. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This program will be held weather permitting
