–Iowa Lakes Community College is reporting a sizeable increase in students for the start of the 2026-2027 school year. Annie Kalous serves as the Director of Admissions for Iowa Lakes, and she tells KLGA News they are seeing even more students taking classes before leaving high school.
Total enrollment at Iowa Lakes is up 4.4% this fall, but Kalous says some of their trade programs are seeing more significant increases.
While nearly 80% of Iowa Lakes students come from the five-county area of Kossuth, Palo Alto, Emmet, Clay, and Dickinson, Kalous says they are starting to see more students from outside the state as well.
The current enrollment figures are 3% above the 3-year and 5-year averages, and Kalous says they still have opportunities for anyone who may be looking to register.
