–A group of students from West Bend-Mallard High School will travel to Kentucky next month to compete in the National 4H Livestock Quiz Bowl competition. Leah Hamilton was a Senior when the team qualified in May, and she will rejoin the rest of her team at the contest that is being held in conjunction with the North American International Livestock Exposition.

Livestock Quiz Bowl challenges students to demonstrate their knowledge of animal science and livestock production. Hamilton, who is currently studying Animal Science on a Pre-Veterinary track at South Dakota State University, says the competition will test their knowledge in several areas.

The rest of the team consists of Morgan Miller and Ryan Morey, both sophomores at West Bend-Mallard, along with Josie Habben, who is currently a freshman.

The team will compete in Louisville November 15-18. To help support the trip, a fundraising meal featuring pork tenderloin and pulled pork sandwiches, will be served on Sunday, October 25 from 4-6:30 PM at the West Bend Fire Station.
