–Mike Genrich, Barry Boland, and Gary David Miller have all been elected to serve on the Kossuth County Board of Supervisors following the results of Tuesday’s election.

Genrich won a 3-way race for the District #1 seat currently held by Carter Nath, who did not seek reelection. Genrich finished with 791 votes, defeating independent candidate Lara Cram, who finished with 384 votes, and Democrat Lany Mitchell, who received 315 votes.

Miller was unopposed in seeking the District #3 seat currently held by Josh Waecther, while Boland was also unopposed in the race for the District #4 seat, currently held by Kyle Stecker. Boland tells KLGA News he’s looking forward to getting started.

The board is currently deciding whether to implement a moratorium on data center construction, something Boland says he would not support.

Todd Holmes was reelected to serve as County Attorney and Karen Benschoter also won reelection to serve as County Recorder, as each was unopposed.

Connie Ludwig will be the new County Treasurer, as she was unopposed in a race to replace Nick Rahm, who did not seek another term. Ludwig tells KLGA News she has learned a lot from Rahm during her 27 years working in the treasurer’s office.

Ludwig says her biggest goal is to keep things running smoothly.
