–Law Enforcement officials now say a man on parole for sex abuse charges in Kossuth County has been apprehended in Kansas, after being sought by the U.S. Marshal’s Service Northern Fugitive Task Force.

Law Enforcement had been on the lookout for 41-year-old Timothy J. Bittner, after an arrest warrant was issued for him for allegedly violating his parole in Western Iowa’s Woodbury County. In a social media post, the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office says Bittner has been arrested in Kansas and will be brought back to Iowa.

Bittner was charged with 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse in March of 2018, and later pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of Assault with the Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse. He was sentenced to 2 years in prison in January of 2019.

Law Enforcement officials had expressed concerns that Bittner may return to the area since he had made threats against individuals in Kossuth County in the past.
