Both drivers reported minor injuries following a 2-vehicle crash west of Algona late last week.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Caryn McGrauth of Whittemore was westbound on County Road B40 in a 2021 Ford Expedition, just after 10:15 AM on Thursday, February 9th.
As McGrauth entered the intersection with 90th Avenue, she was hit broadside by a 2013 Chevrolet Express Van, driven by 37-year-old Jared Squier of Carthage, Illinois.
The accident report states that Squier failed to stop at the posted stop sign, and was cited for Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device.
Both drivers reported possible minor injuries, and were transported by Algona EMS to Kossuth Regional Health Center.
Damage to McGrauth’s vehicle was estimated at $20,000, while damage to Squier’s van was estimated at $10,000.
