–Anyone who has an interest in becoming a trained storm spotter is encouraged to attend a free training session tonight at the Kossuth County Emergency Response and Training Complex. Kossuth County Emergency Management Coordinator Charissa Mueller tells KLGA News they are always in need of trained weather spotters, especially at this time of year.

Mueller says taking the training would be beneficial to people in several different occupations, not just those in Emergency Services and Law Enforcement.

While the training is designed for those who may be new to the storm spotting world, Mueller says it isn’t a bad idea for those who have already taken the training to attend.

The storm spotter training event will run from 7-8:30 PM at the county’s Emergency and Response Training Complex, located on South Phillips Street in Algona, in the former UBC Building. For more information about the program, you can go online to www.weather.gov/dmx/stormspotting.
