–A traffic stop in the Swea City area last week resulted in multiple arrests against a pair of Emmet County men.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the rural Swea City area, just after 12:15 AM on Thursday, May 25th. After conducting a brief investigation, Deputies arrested 24-year-old Micheal Robert Halstead of Ringsted on a charge of OWI first offense. Halstead also had a valid warrant for his arrest in Kossuth County on charges of probation violation.
Online court records show the arrest warrant was issued back in October of 2022, as Halstead was on probation after pleading guilty to a charge of Assault Causing Serious Injury back in 2019. A probation revocation hearing has been scheduled for Monday, June 5th in Kossuth County District Court.
Deputies also arrested 23-year-old Jordan Robert Davis of Dolliver on a charge of public intoxication. Court records show he is scheduled to have a non-jury trial in August.
