Whittemore Men Charged Following Incident Saturday Night

–A pair of Whittemore men were taken into custody over the weekend after law enforcement received word of 2 individuals banging on a door and attempting to gain access to a residence.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies and EMS Officials responded to a residence in Whittemore just after 7 PM Saturday, following the report of the males banging on a door, with one of them appearing to be bloody and possibly carrying a knife.

Upon arrival, Deputies conducted a brief investigation and arrested 29-year-old Lance James Peck and 31-year-old Patrick Franklin Lee Prentice, both of Whittemore. Peck is facing charges of 3rd Degree Burglary, a Class D Felony, Trespassing and Public Intoxication. Prentice is facing a charge of Public Intoxication.

Peck was taken to Kossuth Regional Health Center to be cleared medically before being booked into the Kossuth County Jail. Online court records show he is due back in Kossuth County District Court on June 22nd for a preliminary hearing. Prentice pleaded guilty to the charge on Monday, a received a $105 fine.
