–A Titonka man is the latest recipient of “1440 Citizen of the Month” award from the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Department.
Kossuth County Sheriff Roger Fisher announced this week that Bill Smidt is the recipient for the month of June.
Smidt and his family live near Titonka, where they own and operate Smidt’s Automotive Repair. In his nomination form, Bill is described as someone who is ready to go above and beyond to help someone in need.
Smidt is a volunteer fireman, and also serves on ambulance crew in both Titonka and Lakota. He is a member of the Kossuth County EMS Advisory Council, and is known to invest in projects to help preserve and improve the communities he serves.
