–The Algona Leadership Class is wrapping up the fundraising for their class project by reaching out to local businesses and area residents. Leadership Class Spokesperson Amy Whitacre tells KLGA News about their effort to revitalize an area of downtown Algona.
Whitacre says that contributors will receive special recognition as a part of the project.
Whitacre says the current Leadership Class is trying to secure the necessary funding as quickly as possible.
The class plans to place an art structure at the corner of State and Jones Street designed by Mindy Lichter. The double-sided structure will feature large lettering that spells out ALGONA and will be placed at an angle in the middle of the park. Contributions can be dropped off at the Algona Chamber of Commerce office during regular business hours. If you have any questions, you can contact Whitacre at 515-295-7201.
