Chief Thanks Supporters in the Wake of Officer’s Death

–Algona Police Chief Bo Miller took a minute to read from a prepared statement prior to the funeral for Officer Kevin Cram this morning, his first public comments since the shooting took place last week. Miller says his department has received tremendous support since this tragedy occurred.

Cram died after being shot while serving an arrest warrant in the early evening hours of September 13th. The suspect in the shooting, 43-year-old Kyle Lou Ricke of Algona, is still being held at the Brown County Jail in New Ulm, Minnesota. He was apprehended near the town of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota about 4 hours after the shooting occurred. He is awaiting extradition to Iowa and is facing a charge of 1st Degree Murder.
