–A handful of area businesses have been named to the “Top Workplaces in Iowa” list for 2023 by the Des Moines Register.
The rankings come from employee surveys that are tabulated and scored by the responses.
Around our area, Pharmacists Mutual and Northwest Bank were named to the Top Workplaces for medium sized employers, while Farmers State Bank, Kemna Auto Group, Bolton & Menk and Country Maid were named Top Workplaces in the Small Employer category. Iowa based Arnold Motor Supply, which has an Algona location, and national investment firm Edward Jones, which has multiple Algona locations, were named Top Workplaces in the Large Employer category.
This is the 13th year the Des Moines Register has partnered with Energage, an employee survey company out of Pennsylvania, to celebrate exceptional workplaces. Energage administers a 24-question survey to employees, who are the sole deciders of whether their company is recognized.
The awards are open to any employer with 35 or more employees in Iowa. Survey results are valid only if 35% or more of employees respond.
