–The Iowa Utilities Board announced this week that the public hearing for the proposed Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline project will resume in November, after it was suspended late last week.

According to a release from the IUB, the hearing will resume at 10AM on November 6th at the Cardiff Event Center in Fort Dodge. Based on information provided by remaining witnesses or their attorneys, the board will hear testimony from non-intervening eminent domain landowners and other witnesses that have yet to testify November 6-8. Summit Carbon Solutions will begin rebuttal testimony on November 9th, if they have any planned.

The hearing will then pause for Veteran’s Day on November 10th, and not resume until November 16th, at which point Summit will continue with rebuttal testimony. If the remaining testimony does not go all the way through November 8th, Summit is being required to have their rebuttal testimony ready to go at that time.

The IUB will not issue its final decision on Summit’s permit application until the hearing is concluded. Once the hearing ends, the board will review all the evidence, testimony, exhibits, and comments filed about the project. The board did not provide a timeline for how long it will take to reach a decision once the hearing is concluded.
