–Silent Night in Algona will be available on DVD and digital streaming services for the first time on Friday, but you can view it for free Thursday as part of a special, one-day only event.  Julie Murphy spoke with KLGA News on behalf of the film’s producers, and they are excited to announce the free preview through Encourage TV.

The film which depicts life at the Algona POW Camp during WWII was filmed in and around Kossuth County and had its world premiere last December. Murphy says the DVD and streaming release comes at the perfect time for the holiday shopping season.

Murphy says the release serves as a culmination of a project over a decade in the making.

Encourage TV is a family friendly channel that has no subscription fee. You can find it online at www.youtube.com/channel/UCZEQZQ8HhFbyFjXUT46XH8g.

The free preview runs all day on Thursday, November 30th. You’ll be able to find Silent Night in Algona on platforms like Amazon beginning Friday, December 1st.
