–A Humboldt man is facing up to 15-years in prison after pleading guilty to a federal gun charge this week.
According to the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa, 37-year-old Joseph Isiah Hardy of Humboldt entered the guilty plea on Tuesday in Federal Court in Sioux City.
As a part of the plea agreement, Hardy admitted that he knowingly possessed a firearm, even though he had previously been convicted of a felony punishable by imprisonment. He also admitted to stealing the firearm he was found to be in possession of at the time of his arrest.
Hardy will be sentenced at a later date. He faces a maximum of 15-years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
