–An Elmore, Minnesota man was killed in a one-vehicle accident in rural Winnebago County Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 69-year-old David Wayne Mason was traveling northbound on US Highway 69 in a 1992 Buick Roadmaster just before 5PM, about 4 miles west of Lake Mills.
The accident report states that Mason’s vehicle left the roadway and entered the east ditch, before vaulting over 440th Street and rolling multiple times.
Mason was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The accident report does not state if Mason was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
