–A Kossuth County man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon on a handful of outstanding arrest warrants.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies arrested 48-year-old Eric Allen Johnson in the rural Wesley area on original charges of Domestic Abuse Assault around 1:45 PM Wednesday.
Online court records show Johnson is facing two counts of domestic abuse assault, stemming from incidents in September and October last year. Johnson has been scheduled to have a non-jury trial five times since last fall, but each time the case has been continued prior to the trial taking place.
Late last week, local prosecutors filed an application for an arrest warrant, with Judge Ann Gales issuing the warrant on Monday.
Johnson was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await a court appearance.
