–Only minor injuries were reported following a one-vehicle rollover accident Saturday night in the northeast corner of Kossuth County.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 17-year-old Chase Espeland of Buffalo Center was traveling westbound on County Road A16 in a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee just after 10:30 PM Saturday. The accident report states that the vehicle slid on a patch of frost, causing Espeland to lose control and cross the centerline.

As the vehicle continued to slide, it entered the south ditch on the east side of 210th Avenue, about 7 miles west of Rake, and then went airborne over the road and came to rest west of the intersection.

Espeland and a passenger, identified as 42-year-old Kyle Espeland of Buffalo Center, each reported possible minor injuries, and were transported by ambulance to the United Hospital District in Blue Earth. The accident report states that neither the driver nor the passenger was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,000.
