–Area residents are being asked to assist law enforcement after a painting that was being sold as part of a fundraiser was stolen from a business in downtown Algona.
Social media posts over the weekend indicate the painting was on display at the Perky Parrot and was to be sold as part of a fundraiser for the Oliver’s Light Foundation. The foundation was established at the end of 2024 and is looking to build a first-class animal rescue facility in Algona.
The Algona Police Department says the painting was taken sometime Friday night. As they investigate the theft, anyone with information is encouraged to call them at 515-295-3515.
