Governor Kim Reynolds made a surprise announcement Friday morning about her political future.
In a prerecorded video released on the her own social media account, Reynolds talked about how her parents, her husband, their daughters and their grandchildren have long supported her:
Reynolds said when her term ends, it will have been her privilege to serve in the state’s highest office for nearly a decade. She became governor in May of 2017 when Terry Branstad resigned to become U-S Ambassador to China.
