–The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors approved the first reading of an ordinance to help control animals in unincorporated areas during their meeting this week. Prior to approving the 1st reading, the board held a public hearing where one objection was raised, having to do with feral cats. Kossuth County Attorney Todd Holmes addressed the board and talked about why there is no language in the ordinance about feral cats.
Holmes says the board can add language to the ordinance that would address the matter if they would like.
The objections raised concerns over the ordinance impacting efforts to trap, neuter and release feral cats around the area.
