–Both drivers were cited following a 2-vehicle collision last week in northern Kossuth County.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 59-year-old Michael Allen Rahe of Buffalo Center was northbound on 150th Avenue in a 2019 International Semi just after 5 PM on Tuesday, April 22nd. The accident report states that Rahe failed to yield at the intersection with County Road A16, and was struck by a westbound 2006 Nissan Sentra, driven by 41-year-old Byron Palma of Swea City.
The collision caused the semi to leave the road surface, where it eventually stopped in a farm field. Each driver reported minor injuries, but neither was transported from the scene.
Damage to the semi was estimated at $20,000 while damage to the Nissan was estimated at $5,000.
Rahe was cited for failing to yield upon entering an intersection, while Palma was cited for driving without a valid license and failure to provide proof of insurance.
