Graettinger Man Charged Following Pursuit by Law Enforcement

–A Graettinger man is facing multiple charges after leading law enforcement officials on a chase through parts of rural Palo Alto County Tuesday evening.

According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle in the 2900 Block of Iowa Highway 4 south of Graettinger around just before 6 PM Tuesday. The motorcycle did not stop, and a pursuit ensued, eventually ending in the 4600 Block of 390th Avenue, 4 miles south of Ayrshire.

Following the pursuit, Deputies arrested the driver, identified as 54-year-old Shawn Eric Pattison of Graettinger. Pattison has been charged with:

–2nd offense Eluding 25 MPH over the speed limit (Class C Felony)

–Driving while Barred (Aggravated Misdemeanor)

–Interference with Official Acts (Simple Misdemeanor)

–Speeding, Failure to Obey a Stop Sign (4 counts), Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability, Operating a Non-Registered Vehicle, Fraudulent Use of Registration (all Simple Misdemeanors).

Pattison was booked into the Palo Alto County Jail to await an initial court appearance. He was also arrested on a valid warrant out of Emmet County.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Emmetsburg Police Department.
