–Five new flags were dedicated to honor lives of those who served our country during the annual Memorial Day service at the Kossuth County Courthouse Monday morning. Tom Ryan served as this year’s keynote speaker, and he reminded those in attendance how many have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Before concluding his remarks, Ryan reminded the crowd to always keep these men and women close to their hearts.
Following his remarks, the names of area veterans who have recently passed away were read as a flag was dedicated in their name.
Current and former military members were also recognized during Monday’s service.
