Florida Man Charged Following Weekend Incident in Whittemore

–A Florida man was taken into custody following a disturbance in Whittemore late Saturday night.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies responded to the report of a possible fight near the intersection of 5th Street and Broad Street in downtown Whittemore Saturday night around 10:45 PM.

The alleged incident involved two workers employed by the carnival that was in town for the Memorial Day weekend celebration. After gathering information and conducting interviews, Deputies arrested 38-year-old Jeramie Harmon of Jacksonville, Florida.

Harmon is facing charges of 1st Degree Burglary, a Class B Felony, Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication, both Simple Misdemeanors.

He was charged with a Class B Felony because Deputies allege that he entered an occupied structure with the intent to cause bodily injury against another person.

Harmon was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance.
