–The Kossuth County Farmer’s Market will open for the season this Saturday at the corner of Dodge and Nebraska Streets in downtown Algona. Farmer’s Market Manager Joanne Roepke Bode tells KLGA News they have a wide variety of vendors lined up this year.
The Saturday market is open from 9-11 AM and will be held each week at that time through October.
If you have been patiently waiting for fresh and locally grown produce, Roepke Bode says there will be some available this weekend and more throughout the summer.
The Wednesday afternoon Farmer’s Market will begin on July 2nd, and Roepke Bode says they have a slight change planned this year.
The Wednesday Farmer’s Market in July will also look to feature young entrepreneurs from around the area, as they will have Youth Vendor Days. Anyone 18 or younger with a product to sell can come to the Wednesday Farmer’s Market in July and set up for free. Most vendors accept cash or checks, and some even accept credit/debit cards, so it’s a good idea to bring more than one form of payment. For more information about the Market or for any youth vendor who would like to participate in July, you can contact Joanne Roepke Bode by calling 515-341-4864.
