–A pair of Algona High School students had the opportunity this month to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair that was held in Columbus, Ohio. Emerson Waltz and Abby Lampe took part in the festivities that were held May 10-16th, bringing together students from all across the country. Waltz spoke with KLGA News about the experience that took up most of her final days at AHS.

Waltz says to compete in these events, you have to develop a unique project each year.

ISEF brings together some of the brightest young minds from around the country, and Waltz says some of the projects are quite impressive.

Waltz was able to bring home some honors while in Ohio, earning the International Precious Metals Award.

Waltz plans to study Chemical Engineering next fall at Purdue University.
