–The construction project that will shut down Iowa Highway 15 near Whittemore is scheduled to begin Monday.
The Iowa Department of Transportation announced Thursday that weather permitting, crews will close Highway 15 on Monday, June 9th so repairs can be made to the Canadian Pacific Railroad Crossing a mile south of US Highway 18. The closure will remain in place throughout the week, with a detour posted.
Northbound traffic on Highway 15 will take 210th Street east into Whittemore and then turn North on 5th Street and continue on that road out of town to the intersection with Highway 18.
Southbound traffic on Highway 15 will take 20th avenue south into Whittemore and then turn right on Broad Street and take that out of town to reconnect with the highway.
