–Only minor injuries were reported when a Lone Rock teen lost control and rolled his vehicle late last week.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 14-year-old Miles Denker of Lone Rock was traveling southbound on 50th Avenue in a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria just after 10AM last Friday (6/13). The accident report states that Denker entered the west ditch and then overcorrected trying to get the vehicle back on the roadway, causing it to skid sideways for a long distance.
Eventually, Denker’s vehicle entered the east ditch, where it rolled and came to rest on its top.
Denker reported only minor injuries and was not transported from the scene. He was cited for failure to maintain control, careless driving, and failure to use a seatbelt.
Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $4,000.
