–No injuries were reported following a 2-vehicle accident Monday evening in the rural Burt area.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Department, 17-year-old Camron McNeese of Algona was traveling eastbound on 270th Street in a 2000 Ford Ranger just before 7:45 PM Monday. The accident report states that McNeese was traveling at an unsafe speed on the gravel surface, and he lost control as he tried to negotiate a curve at the intersection with 105th Avenue.
The McNeese vehicle then collided with a northbound vehicle that was attempting to turn left, driven by 18-year-old Elijah Wilhite of Algona.
Neither driver reported any injuries at the scene, as damage to each vehicle was estimated at $5,000.
McNeese was cited for Failure to Maintain Control, Operating an unregistered vehicle and no insurance.
