–The Aviation Program at Iowa Lakes Community College recently reached a milestone after a reorganization took place back in January of 2020. In late May, the program registered its 300th FAA check ride, as Andrew Barbee of Dubuque successfully earned his Certified Flight Instructor certification. Tim Busch serves as the Director of Aviation & Chief Flight Instructor for Iowa Lakes, and he tells KLGA News the program has been in a constant state of expansion since that reorganization took place.
Busch says these FAA checks serve as a series of licenses and ratings that students need to conform to as they progress from student to pilot.
Efforts to expand the programs since the reorganization have allowed them to reach more students and help them develop a career in aviation.
