–A Forest City man has been identified as the person killed while fleeing from law enforcement over the weekend in Clear Lake.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 22-year-old Zachary Hill was actively attempting to flee law enforcement in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 13th.
The accident report states that Hill lost control of the 2015 Ford Focus he was driving at a high rate of speed and collided with a tree, a pair of parked vehicles, and a house before coming to rest near the intersection of 4th Avenue South and South Shore Drive in Clear Lake.
Hill was transported to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City where he died of his injuries. The accident report says he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
