–RAGBRAI kicked off Sunday with riders taking off from Orange City and traveling to Milford. Riders travel to Estherville today, before making their way through Kossuth County on Tuesday. Trooper Paul Gardner with the Iowa State Patrol tells KLGA News that traffic through Swea City, Bancroft and Titonka will be extremely high on Tuesday.

Bike traffic will come into Kossuth County on Highway 9, support traffic will enter the county near Fenton before meeting the riders in Bancroft.

Gardner says motorists need to be prepared for the traffic increase, no matter what time of day they are on the road.

While State Troopers and Sheriff’s Deputies will be out at various intersections to try and keep traffic moving, Gardner says it might not be a bad idea to steer clear of the area if possible.

Troopers will also move from town to town to make sure vendors are closing when they are supposed to and riders are making there way along the route in a timely manner.
