–The road construction in downtown Algona will force a slight change from the normal route for Tuesday’s Kossuth County Fair parade. Algona Police Chief Bo Miller says the parking lot at the corner of Nebraska and Thorington Street usually serves as the staging area for the parade. But with that lot currently under construction, they will have to move everything one block to the east and close down a couple of blocks along Nebraska Street.
Once the parade gets to State Street, it will follow its regular route, turning south on Harlan Street, east on Nebraska Street, and then south again on Minnesota Street, all the way to Fair Street and the Kossuth County Fairgrounds. The parade will begin at 6 PM with an evening full of activities scheduled afterwards at the fairgrounds. Find the full schedule online at www.kossuthcountyfair.com.
