–The 2025 Kossuth County Fair officially kicked off on Tuesday with the parade and the crowning of this year’s fair royalty. 2024 Kossuth County Fair Queen Meredith Tigges announced who will be taking her place this year.
Ashton Peters is from Whittemore and a recent graduate of Emmetsburg High School. She says it would have been fun to go through the Queen contest with other competitors.
This was the first time Peters has entered a fair pageant, and now she finds herself headed to Des Moines to represent Kossuth County at the Iowa State Fair next month.
Peters will attend the University of South Dakota in the fall with plans to study Dental Hygiene before eventually going into Orthodontics. Now she has one more thing to do before leaving for college.
