–The Algona City Council awarded a contract for the Finn Drive railroad crossing reconstruction project during their meeting this week as work is expected to begin later this month. Matt Cole with Bolton & Menk addressed the city council prior to their vote.
The bid from Castor Construction was for just over $184,000, but Cole says the city will only pay a fraction of that cost.
Cole says work will begin later this month, with a detour in place to reroute traffic.
Work on the project should be completed within two weeks, depending on the weather.
